March '23 Empties

Another month and another round of empties. This past month I finished so many products that I really enjoyed. But if I had to pick one favorite from the entire bunch it would be the Cerave Ultra-Light Face Lotion Moisturizer with Sunscreen- SPF 30. I go into detail about within the post!

Face Empties

Indie Lee Renewal Radiance Peel Pads

Price: $70 for 60 pads

The Indie Lee Renewal peel pads are said to exfoliate and brighten the skin with a formulation of natural AHA’s, Vitamin A and glycerin. It’s recommended to be used daily or 2-3 times a week for sensitive skin. Being that I have other exfoliating products within my routine, I actually used these peels pads on various areas of my body. I particularly loved the peel pads for my neck/chest, underarms and bikini area.

I do think the pads live up to its claim of exfoliating but not being too harsh on these sensitive areas. I know these are on the pricier side, but they’re often on sale. One peel pad is able to cover various areas at a time for me. If you do have really sensitive skin, the pads also come in a gentle formula.

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Eye Gels

Price: $55 for 60 eye gels

One of my favorite hydrating eye gels that stay in place! | Previously reviewed Oct’21 Empties

Cerave Ultra-Light Face Lotion Moisturizer with Sunscreen - SPF 30

Price: $20.99 for 1.7oz

Link for the Try-on Video Demo

I was immediately drawn to this Cerave sunscreen because it’s described as Ultra-Light and having a matte finish. As with all Cerave products this contains 3 essential ceramides to help restore and maintain the barrier of the skin. The Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion  is a chemical based sunscreen that is indeed lightweight and feels like a lotion. I would describe the dry down as in not being overly matte, but it is on the mattifying side in comparison to other sunscreens that I’ve tried. In this case, this is the best version of matte. It leaves my skin looking and feeling hydrated without a shiny finish at the end. The tube with a pump packing makes it easier to dispense and really helps to get every last bit of product out! This is definitely one of my favorite sunscreens that I’ve tried and a must for my skincare collection!

Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream Mini

Price: $22 for 0.34oz

The Tatcha Dewy Skin Moisturizer is described as a rich cream formulated with antioxidants that helps to plump and hydrate the skin. This cream is often marketed to those that have dry skin types and I can see why. This moisturizer feels like a blanket on my face- in the best way possible. I used this in my night routines and it never felt oily or too heavy on my skin. It felt like a serum, moisturizer and sleeping mask all in one. I think it did a great job at keeping my skin moisturized overnight while I slept and plumping my skin. I could always feel a difference in my skin when I used it! As much as I love it, the full price is $70.

Glow Recipe Avocado Ceramide Moisture Barrier Cleanser

Price: $28 for 5oz

Described as a hydrating, skin barrier-strengthening cleanser formulated with ceramides and pre- and postbiotics. I really enjoyed using this cleanser as both a morning refresher cleanser and as a second step cleanser. The texture of this cleanser is more on the runny side and I think that may have been one of the reasons why I went through the product so quickly. Other than that I think it did a good job at cleansing my skin and providing barrier support. I do think this is a great cleanser option for all skin types. Overall, I liked it, but didn’t love it.

Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil Makeup Remover

Price: $32 for 5oz

The Anti-Aging cleansing oil is formulated with Salicylic and Mandelic Acids to provide a gentle exfoliation along with avocado, soybean, yuzu oils to remove makeup (even waterproof formulas). Being that this is a cleansing oil, I used this on dry skin and did a great job at breaking down makeup. I love that this cleansing oil is also formulated with gentle acids. I often used it on my neck and chest after workouts and I think it helped with keeping away body acne. The pump applicator made it very easy to dispense and use. I would definitely consider purchasing this in the future if it were on sale.

Farmacy Honey Potion Mask -Now – Honey Potion Plus

Price: $41 for 1.7oz

At this point I’ve gone through several jars of the honey potion mask. It’s one of my favorite masks to use when my skin is in need of some extra TLC or just when my skin needs extra moisture. I easily reach for the honey potion mask at least 1x a week- sometimes 2x. After using it my skin always feels so soft and moisturized. I know Farmacy recently discontinued the Honey Potion Mask to replace it with the New Honey Potion Plus Ceramide Hydration Mask.

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream Mini

Price: $17 for 0.5oz

The Skin Smoothing Cream is a moisturizer that is formulated with hyaluronic acid, vitamin c and vitamin e and its said to provide 48 hours of hydration. I received this mini in a travel size kit and I really enjoyed using this moisturizer in my night routines. I really like this didn’t feel heavy on my skin, but did a great job of keeping my skin moisturized at night. I really didn’t find it to stand out in comparison to the other moisturizers in my current rotation. So yes, I enjoyed using this one, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to repurchase.

Body Empties

Ameliorate Smoothing Body Exfoliant

Video Review

Price: $24 for 5oz

The Smoothing Skin Body Exfoliant is body scrub that is applied to dry skin prior to getting into the shower. Its formulated with Lactic Acid to gently exfoliate dead skin cells. The consistency of the body exfoliant is very much on the fluid side, which I think makes for a good application. A little bit of product goes a long way. I love body exfoliants like this to help manage my KP (Keratosis Pilaris). With consistent usage the scrub really helps my KP not look and feel as noticeable.

Osea Undaria Algae Body Butter

Price: $56 for 6.7 0z

The Osea Undaria Body Butter is formulated with undaria seaweed, shea butter, ceramides and amino acids. The texture is ultra-rich and it definitely did take a little more time to rub in.

Even with being on the thicker side it absorbed into my skin so well. Due to the cream being on the thicker side a little of product did go a long way. I really think the Undaria body butter did a great job at keeping my skin moisturized for the entire day when used. Osea products tend to be on the pricier side, but are often on sale at Ulta. This is a body butter I would definitely consider repurchasing in the future.

Bioderma Atoderm - Intensive Balm

Price: $20 for 6.7oz

Previously Reviewed in August ’21 Empties

Such a great moisturizing cream that I used on my feet and other dry areas of my body. I really enjoyed having this in my routine again and I love that its offered in a travel size!

Hair & Misc. Empties

Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray Anti-Frizz Treatment

Price: $12 for 1.7 oz.

The Dream Coat is described as mini keratin hair treatment that helps to block humidity and last 3-4 shampoos. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this little bottle- especially after reading the directions and knowing that I have to saturate all of my hair with it prior to blowing it out or applying heat. Even with this type of method to applying I was able to get at least 4 full applications from this bottle. I have curly coily hair that frizzes at the first drop of humidity when it’s straight and I really think this helped. The Dream Coat helped with my hair staying straighter the times I’ve worn it straight and with humidity to a certain extent. Definitely on the pricier side, but I’m happy they make a travel size. I’ve already purchased a full size bottle because I enjoyed using it.

Ouai Melrose Place Candle

Price: $44 for 8oz

The Ouai Melrose candle smells like a lighter version of the Melrose Place Perfume. It has notes of rose, bergamot, lychee, cedarwood and white musk. I love the vessel that it’s housed in and almost looks like cement. The candle is made with coconut and soy wax, so not only does it burn cleaner, it also burns slower.

When I initially burned the candle the scent was very very faint. It wasn’t until almost of the end of burning that I started to get more of the rich fragrance. I already purchased a back up and I do love the scent, but I wish it was more potent.

Otherland Coco Blossom Candle

Price: $36 for 8oz

I really think the Otherland Candles are priced so well! The Coco Blossom scent has key notes of Island Coconut, Gardenia Petal and Warm Amber. The coconut and warm amber stood out to me the most. I burned this candle for hours on ends -sometimes multiple times a day and it lasted so long.

The coco blossom scent is such a nice everyday type of scent that is not overwhelming but carries well throughout a moderate size space. As much as I like the scent, I would likely not repurchase only for the reason that Otherland makes a lot really unique candle scents and I find this one to be more on the average side in terms of fragrance uniqueness.

Sephora Collection Solid Brush Cleaner

Price: $16

I’ve been purchasing these Sephora Solid Brush Cleaners for now. I find them to work almost identical to the Beauty Blender version. Being that this is a solid form, I feel like these last for several months at a time. I try to stock up on them during Sephora Sales as they tend to be 30% off of the original price.
