January '26 Empties
January absolutely flew by, and somehow we’re already deep in February - so yes, I know I’m a little late getting up my January beauty empties roundup posted. But better late than never, because I finished up some truly noteworthy products last month, from skincare staples to body care must haves that deserve a proper send-off.
If you love honest mini reviews and seeing what’s actually worth repurchasing, you’re in the right place — don’t forget, my monthly giveaways are tucked inside this post for you to check out.
Face Care Empties
Price: $154 for 2.0oz
I recently finished this Dermalogica Vitamin C serum. With daily usage, this 2oz bottle was able to sustain me for about 6 months! I do think this is a lovely serum and ingredient blend. But I don’t believe this is a serum that I could use year-round based on the skincare products in my routine and weather temperaments. I go into great detail regarding my thoughts on this serum along with all of the other vitamin c serums I’ve tried over the years. Vitamin C Guide Post - check out the post for more details!
Purlisse Pumpkin Chai Latte Cleansing Balm
Price: $36 for 3.4oz
I receive this cleansing balm in a previous Ipsy bag. Prior to trying this out Purlisse was a brand that I’ve heard of but haven’t tried much from. The balm has a lovely light pumpkin chai scent to it and it contains pumpkin to help exfoliate the skin, soy milk to help maintain the skin elasticity, and chai as a form of an antioxidant. The Purlisse cleansing balm has a silky texture that starts off as a balm and quickly transforms into milky cleanser when introduced to water. I think the balm did a great job to quickly dissolve and remove makeup – even stubborn eye makeup, sunscreen, and impurities from the skin. While using the balm I didn’t experience any issues with the scent or with it irritating my skin. I also appreciate that a little spatula is included in the packaging to help scoop out product. I enjoyed using this cleansing balm and would be open to trying it again at maybe a lower price point.
Paula’s Choice Ultra-Gentle Cleanser
Price: $24 for 6.7oz
The Paula’s Choice Ultra Gentle Cleanser is said to gently remove impurities without disrupting the skin’s barrier. It has a creamy gel like consistency that doesn’t lather. This was a cleanser I kept in my shower. I typically reached for it for my morning cleansing and during the times when I needed a gentler option. I do think the cleanser lives up to it’s claims. It cleansed well without stripping my skin, thus leaving my skin feeling hydrated. I think this is a great option for those that are interested in a gentle cleanser that’s not drying or harsh on the skin. I would definitely repurchase this in the future!
Tenzero Vita C Hydrogel Eye Patch
Price: $12.18 for 60 patches
Previously Reviewed: October & November ‘25 Empties
The Tenzero eye patches are a great affordable option for patches. They stay in place pretty well and works well with depuffing the eyes.
Beauty of Joseon Revive Under Eye Patch
Price: $20 for 60 patches
I was gifted these eye patches from one of my sisters. She wasn’t very fond of them based on the scent, but I didn't mind It. The Revive Under Eye Patches are formulated with key ingredients such as Peptides, Bakuchiol, and Adenosine, which are said to improve the look of skin clarity, fine lines, and wrinkles. The formula also contains ginseng water and retinal to help hydrate and smooth the skin.
Compared to other eye patches I’ve tried I found these eye patches to have a slimmer profile compared to other brands that I’ve tried. I also think this minor features helps the patches adhere to the skin better; which helps to keep them in place and not move around too much. I really enjoyed using these eye patches. I think they did a good job to really keep my under eyes feeling moisturized and I think they do a great job to help depuff the eye area. As for the scent, I’m not sure how to describe it. To me almost smells like cactus/prickly pear, making it smell slightly spicy. Personally, the scent doesn’t bother me.
The design of the patches are so cute and almost resembles angel wings. Overall, I really enjoyed using them and based on the price point, I will definitely repurchase in the future.
Charlotte Tilbury Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum
Price: $70 for 0.5oz
The Cryo Recovery Eye Serum is formulated with Caffeine Complex, Iceawake, and Swiss Ice Wine Essence. This formula combination helps to reduce puffiness and helps to firm the under eye area. I really loved the metal tip applicator. It made it really nice to apply and distribute the product to my under eyes. Also with the metal tip it felt really cooling, which helps with depuffing. The formulas truly feels like an eye serum as the formula is on the thinner side. I more so reached for this during my morning routines since the formula made for a nice base prior to applying my concealer. I really like the ease of using this and I do think the formula was really nice.
As for the price point $70 is pretty steep, but at the same time very aligns with the Charlotte Tilbury price point. I can say that even with using it daily the eye serum lasted for such a long time. So yeah, $70 is expensive, but the formula with likely last you at least 6-7 months!
Body Care Empties
Josie Maran Everybody Wash Now
Price: $29 for 16oz
I looked at this as a no-frills body wash, at least for the unscented version. I could see this unscented version appealing to different people for different reasons. The body wash had a lovely lather, that’s more on the lows suds level. I’m not sure if this body wash is still in production with Josie Maran, but I hope so as it was a body wash I reached for often when I had it opened.
Naturium The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Butter
Price: $20 for 7.7oz
The Naturium Glow Getter Body Butter is described to intensely moisturize and nourish the skin. It’s formulated with multi oil blend, shea butter, glycerin, squalane, plant peptides, and upcycled apple extract. This oil infused body cream more than lives up to its name! I absolutely loved using this cream – especially during these extremely cold and dry weather days! The cream has a whipped thicker consistency, so a little truly goes a long way. Being that the body butter is so moisturizing it gave my skin a lovely glow. With my usage of the body butter during the fall and winter months it sunk into the skin beautifully. I do think this cream would likely be too heavy to use during the spring and summer months though. My only con is the size. I wish this was available in a bigger size. I can say I loved using this body butter and I will most definitely repurchase this in the future.
Dove Exfoliating Body Scrub Macadamia & Rice Milk
Price: $7.99 for 15oz
The Dove body scrubs are some of my favorite drug store options when I’m looking for a mild form of exfoliation and they all smell so good. The Macadamia & Rice Milk scent smells heavenly. I also love that many of the scents of the body scrubs has a matching Dove body wash to it. This is great if you like to layer your scents.
This particular scrub also functions as a light exfoliator as it includes gentle scrubbing beads. The creamy texture of the scrub helps to moisturize the skin in the process, and it also helps to aid the gentle factor. This was a scrub that I reached for multiple times a week when I was looking for a gentle exfoliation. I also think that this scrub is gentle enough to use daily if you really wanted to. The fact that Dove exfoliating body scrub is so moisturizing, I especially think it’s perfect for the winter months when our skin is drier.
Since finishing this scrub, I’ve already added in another Dove scrub into my shower. For the price point and quality, I think they’re worth checking out!
Necessaire The Deodorant - Olibanum
Price: $24 for 2.5oz
I’ve tried many of the products from Necessaire over the years and I can easily say that they have a solid lineup of products that work well and I do like that many of their products are also offered in a fragrance-free version. The Deodorant “Le Deodorant” was a newbie for me. In the past I’ve tried their other deodorant, The Deodorant Gel, and I absolutely love it! It’s one of the best natural deodorants I’ve tried.
The Necessaire “The Deodorant” is an aluminum-free, extra strength deodorant is also formulated with Mandelic Acid. Unlike their gel deodorant, this one has been more of a solid consistency. I do like that goes on dry, so I didn’t have to wait for the formula to dry down. In terms of quality and protection, I can say it performs well, but not as well as their gel deodorant. I do think Le Deodrant has a really nice scent collection. The Olibanum scent is a warm woody scent that’s slightly sweet. It has a scent profile that includes notes of Top: Olibanum and Vanilla, Heart: Fig Leaf and Base: Cassis Buds. Scent wise, this is one of the best Necessaire scents that I’ve tried, and I will definitely be purchasing more from this scent line from their collection!
Price: $8.99 for 1.4oz
The Vaseline Healing Stick is an all over body balm in a stick form packaging. It’s basically the traditional petroleum jelly in a more portable form. I picked up the unscented version for various reasons. I typically used the jelly stick to lock in moisture for very dry areas of my body like my feet, knees, and elbows. I do travel often and I liked the option of the package being more travel friendly. The unscented version was also a nice option to add to my fragrance routine. I would often roll the jelly stick on to my neck, chest, and inner arms as these are areas, and then I would apply fragrances to these areas. Applying the Healing Jelly Stick prior to your perfume is a good way to help your fragrances last longer. I guess there’s something about fragrances adhering better to moisturized skin. The stick form lasted a decent amount of time and I would definitely recommend and repurchase.
Peach Slices Smoothing Solution Ingrown Hair Treatment
Price:$17.99 for 1.69oz
I’m always on the hunt for products to help with my KP and ingridents that aid to treat ingrowns. The smoothing solution BHA, AHA and PHA, which helps to gently exfoliate the skin along with Niacinamide and Cica to help smooth and hydrate the skin. Based on these ingredients I thought it would be worth it to try it on my areas of KP (Keratosis Pilaris) along with my bikini areas.
The prior product that I used was also a roll-on and I find the applicator makes it so much easier to use. I enjoyed using the serum and I found it to be very gentle on the skin. The first thing I noticed while using the serum is that it made the areas I applied it to feel very soft. The serum did a decent job to lighten up areas and I do think it helped to prevent with ingrown. I don’t think it did much for the areas of KP that I had, but I can say it did a great job with tackling ingrown hairs. Based on the results and price point, I think I would give a try again in the future.
Hair Care Empties
Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Restructing Bond Repair Shampoo
Price: $36 for 8.5oz
The Alterna Restructuring Bond Repair Shampoo is formulated to repair damaged hair along with protecting it from future damage. Being that I was gifted this product, I really didn't have a high level of expectations.
I do like the shampoo lathered well. I feel like it did a really good job in terms of cleansing my hair. I can’t really say I’ve noticed a drastic change with my hair while using it and that’s almost to be expected since shampoo only sits on the hair for such a short amount of time. I guess I’ll see how many hair reacts to not using it for the next few months to see if I can tell a difference. If I do, I’ll repurchase and report back!
Oyin handmade Burnt Sugar Shine & Seal Pomade
Price: $14.99 for 4oz
Previously Reviewed: March ‘25 Empties
A forever staple in my haircare routine. I’ve been using this for well over 10 years now. I appreciate that the formula has remained the same. As long as the shine & seal is in production, I’ll be purchasing it. It’s one of the best products that I’ve used to help keep my hair moisturized for days at a time and it’s made with such great incidents.
Candle Empties
Bath and Body Works MilkBar Birthday Cake Candle
Price: $27.95 for 14.5oz
I’ve been enjoying several of the launches from the BBW collaboration with Milkbar. The Birthday Cake Candle smells very similar to the actual birthday cake sold by Milkbar. The scent is scent, but not overly sweet. I was able to easily burn the candle and the sweet scent lingered nicely for a medium size area.
Scent Notes: Layered Vanilla Cake, Creamy Frosting, Rainbow Sprinkles
Price: $20 for 8oz
I have such a love for so many of the Otherland candles. I’ve had this Rattan scent for the longest, but for some reason I would alway put off burning it. The Rattan scent profile includes Sandalwood - Golden Amber - Warm Musk. The combination together smells so good. The Otherland candles have a coconut-soy wax blend, which means they have a cleaner burn in comparison to paraffin wax. I also found the candles to burn very evenly and they have a great throw. The cold throw on these candles are so good too! Often when I buy them I lead them with the lid off for a week or so before burning and I can lightly smell them. So, with that all being said, I will most definitely be repurchasing this candle in the Rattan scent soon!
