October '23 Empties

October Empties | the month of October involved quite a bit of traveling and the same will be forthcoming for both November and December. With more travel comes more beauty empties- especially minis and travel sizes! The one product that I emptied last month that would be my favorite out of all of my empties has to be the Everyday Humans Cleansing oil. If you would like to hear more about it, keep reading.

Also there’s a surprise at the end to show my appreciation ♡

face Care Empties

— Cleansers

 Everyday Humans Cleansing Oil

Price: $18 for 5oz

The Ease Up Watery PHA Oil Cleanser is a cleansing oil that is formulated with gentle exfoliating PHA’s like mandelic acid and lactic acid to help brighten and lightly exfoliate the skin whilst it cleanses. The formula also contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid to protect and hydrate the skin. I really loved using this cleanser as the first step in my night routine to help breakdown makeup, sunscreen, and dirt.

I also used it some mornings if I felt that my skin a little extra cleansing. The formula of the cleanser is more on the watery side for a cleansing oil. I used it multiple times a week and sometimes back to back and never experienced any issues with it stripping my skin. I think for this size of product and ingredient formulation, this cleanser is priced exceptionally well and I can’t recommend it enough!

Dermalogica Precleanse Cleansing Oil

Price: $15 for 1oz

The Precleanse cleansing oil helps to melt way sunscreen, dirt, makeup – even waterproof without stripping the skin. The formula contains key ingredients like vitamin e, rice bran and rosemary to gently exfoliate the skin and nourish the skin whilst it cleanses. In comparison to other cleansing oils that I’ve tried, this has to be the lightest consistency! You would think that would mean you would need to use more product, but actually no in this case. I was able to get so many applications from this one little bottle. This was such a perfect size for travel and didn’t take up much space. I do think it lives up to its claims of cleansing the skin well without over stripping it. I really loved and enjoyed using it, but with Dermalogica products they are more on the splurge end. I can say if you splurge on their products, you’re not going to be disappointed! I think I have a full size of the Precleanse in my beauty collection and I’m looking forward to opening it when the time comes.

Son & Park Beauty Water

Price: $6.99 for 60ml

I’ve been using the Son & Park Beauty Water for many years at this point. I love having a mini on hand for when I’m traveling. The Beauty Water is described as a toner, but I’ve always used it as a micellar water. I typically apply a little to a cotton round and swipe it across my face for morning routines. It works really well to remove excess dirt and to refresh the skin. I love that it’s unscented and really does feel like water. There’s no sticky after feeling and helps to moisturize the skin in the process. I really love the Beauty Water so much and will definitely purchase another mini and possibly a full size if I’m able to locate it in person.

Beekman 1802 Milk Wash Exfoliating Jelly Cleanser

Price: $10 for 0.50z | mini from the Best Sellers Skincare Set

The Beekman 1802 Milk Wash is an exfoliating cleanser that is formulated with AHA and BHA’s to help breakdown makeup and dirt. The cleanser has a jelly texture, which almost felt a little diluted. I was hoping the cleanser was going to be thicker and since it wasn’t, I felt like I had to use several pumps just to get enough product to cleanse my face. I think it worked decently well in terms to cleansing my face. With frequent usage I didn’t experience any dryness or irritation, which tends to happen with a lot of exfoliating cleansers. I liked this one, but I wouldn’t classify it as a love.

Face Mists & Serums

Allies of Skin Molecular Saviour Probiotics Treatment Mist

Price: $68 for 1.7oz

I’ve been using the Allies of Skin Treatment Mist on and off for a few years now. I have to say this may be the one product that made me fall in love with the brand. This is more of skincare mist and not makeup mist. Its formulated with key ingredients such as, 5% Niacinamide, 1.5% Lactobacillus Ferment, Silver, Silk Amino Acids + Mango & Acai Fruit Extract, Glutathione, Ergothioneine. This blends hydrates the skin whilst providing brightening and soothing effects. I haven’t tried any other facial mist that hydrates the way this one does. Everything else that it does, is just an extra benefit for me. I do think it lives up to its claims! I know the brand is on the pricier side, but they tend to have very good sales!

Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence Mist

Price: 18 for 0.5oz (mini size)

The Tata Harper Floral Essence is said to provide a boost of hydration along with soothing the skin and to minimize the look of wrinkles. Its formulated with hyaluronic acid, Kimchi Ferment and Propanediol. The Floral Essence provides a nice level of hydration and the floral blend of rose and lavender gives spa like scent vibes. I really enjoyed using it and I think it provided a moderate level of hydration that worked well for my skin during the summer months, but I don’t think this would be hydrating enough for my skin for the winter months.

The Feelist Total Package Youth Protecting Concentrate

Price: $62 for 1oz

The Total Package Youth Protecting Concentrate is a serum that is described to as a superpower serum that does it all. It’s said to soften, soothe and balance the skin while also helping against light rays and free radicals. The serum has a milky consistency and is on the lighter side, making it easy to use in various routines for both morning and evening. I typically used this serum during my night routines and I could always feel a difference immediately after using it and the mornings directly after. I do think the serum lives up to its claims of hydrating, softening, and balancing the skin. The incorporation of ceramides was there! The Total Package Concentrate did a great job at moisturizing my skin upon application and hours after.  I really enjoyed using this serum and would recommend it and repurchase it!

Makeup Empties

Charlotte Mini Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray

Price: $23 for 1.1oz

I’ve raved about this setting mist so many times. This is one of my favorite setting mists for setting my makeup and the fact that it comes in a decent size travel size, it’s one that I love traveling with. At this point I can’t remember how many bottles I’ve gone through, but if you would like a more in-depth review on it, check out my previous review here TOP 10 PRODUCTS OF 2022

Tower28 Make Waves Lengthening + Volumizing Mascara

Price: $20

Could this be on the best mascara’s that I’ve tried out this year? I think so! The Make Waves Mascara is said to lengthen, define, and add volume to lashes. It also said to be safe for even those with sensitive eyes. The mascara applicator has a wand that looks almost like a fine-tooth comb but this one has a triangular wand, which helps to lengthen and define lashes at different angles. I usually use a mascara primer and then 2 coats of mascara. With this type of application and the Make Waves Mascara I never experienced flaking lashes or my lashes feeling hard to the touch. My lashes are a decent length with a natural curl and I think the combination of the mascara formula and wand does a great job at defining my lashes and making them look longer. I think the quality really matches the price point. I would recommend this and repurchase. I’ve already opened a new tube since finishing this one.

Lancome Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Primer

Price: $30

I’ve tried different mascara primers from very high end to drug store and I have to say I really enjoyed using the Cils Booster primer from Lancome. The primer helps to maximize the results of mascara and also condition your natural lashes in the process with the incorporation of Vitamin E. It can also be applied to the lashes at night as an eyelash conditioner. I really liked the results from the primer and I think it did a great job to lengthen my lashes. I do think the price is more on the splurge end and I don’t think it’s worth the $30 price tag on its own. But Lancome recently released a gift set of the Lash Idôle Mascara and Lash Primer for $35 and I think this is such a great deal since you get the Lash Idole Mascara and Lash Idôle Primer.

Tower 28 Beauty Shine On Lip Jelly Non-Sticky Gloss

Price: $16 (gift with purchase size shown)

This mini Tower 28 Lip Jelly in the color: Chill (clear) was a gift with purchase from one of my previous Sephora orders. The Lip Jelly is a lip gloss that is not sticky, moisturizes the lips and gives off a great level of shine. These glosses comes in various shades and the shaded ones has a light to medium color payoff. I really love how they feel on the lips and I have several full sizes already in my beauty stash! Even with frequent usage, this little size lasted a pretty long time!

Sunscreens Empties

Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotic SPF50+ PA++++ -

Price: $15 for 50ml

I was a bit on the fence about the Relief Sun Sunscreen when I first tried it earlier this year. Its sunscreen that is very popular within the beauty community – especially amongst the K-Beauty community and for very good reasons! The Relief Sun is a chemical sunscreen that contains rice extract, probiotics, Niacinamide, Vitamin E  and green tea with a consistency that feels like a lightweight lotion. I have combination skin of normal to oily and this sunscreen worked well for my skin type for both the warmer and cooler months. I was able to wear this sunscreen on its own and underneath my makeup applications and never had any issues with pilling or my makeup breaking up. I really enjoyed using this one and for the spf protection and quality, I think the sunscreen is priced very reasonable. If you’re thinking of purchasing, I highly recommend purchasing for a reputable retailer as I heard of fakes being sold on Amazon!

Everyday Humans Oh My Bod! Body Sunscreen - SPF 50

Price: $10 (from the sunshine sampler set)

The Everyday Humans is a sheer lightweight chemical sunscreen. The Oh My Bod has a fresh green scent with a hint of apple. I found the sunscreen to be super moisturizing. I basically used it alone without using a body moisturizer without it. I think it did a great job at providing sunscreen protection and I put to the test during a few tropical vacations this year. I think for the price point and the fact that it comes in various sizes, it’s a great sunscreen to give a try. I also have this in a bigger size that I’m looking forward to using during upcoming trips.

Supergoop Play -Everyday Lotion SPF 50

Gift with Purchase size

The Supergoop Play is one of my favorite sunscreens. I love that I can use it from head to toe! When I use it on my face or body, I use it alone and I don’t find the need to apply a moisturizer prior to applying Play as I find it moisturizing on it own. Body Care Empties

I Am Proud Skin Bight Boost Body Moisturizer

Price: $9.98 for 12.17 oz | mini size $4.00

The Body Proud Bright Body Moisturizer is said to hydrate, brighten and smooth the skin. The moisturizer is formulated with Grapefruit and Magnolia Extracts along with Niacinamide and Caffeine. The consistency feels very much like a serum but it hydrates deeply like a body cream. I brought this small mini on 2-3 weekend trips and it kept my skin moisturized so well! I can easily say that this exceed my expectations!

Sabon Body Lotion – Musk

Price: $34 for 6.75oz

The Sabon Musk scent has a scent blend of bergamot blend with jasmine the musk base. The lotion has a nice middle ground in terms of consistency and moisturizing levels. The scent of the lotion has a nice lingering effect and the moisturizer hydrates well. I will definitely repurchase this again, solely for the Musk scent since I love it so much. I’m not sure if this scent is seasonal or one they bring out from time to time, but at the moment I’m unable to locate it.

Ouai Scalp and Body Scrub

gift with purchase size

I’ve gone through a few of these Ouai scrubs in the full size. I believe this mini was from a past Sephora order as a gift with purchase. This particular size was so nice to travel with and I was able to get use it on 2 separate trips. If you’re interested in finding out more about the Ouai Scalp and Body Scrub, check out my May ’22 Empties Post

 Hair Care Products Empties

Ouai Thick and Full Hair Supplements

Price: $42 for 30-day supply

The Ouai hair supplements is vegan based and said to support healthy hair with the usage of biotin alongside a multivitamin complex. I can really say that I noticed a difference, which is to be expected since this was only a 30 day supply. I feel like with most hair vitamins a continuous usage for 2-4 months is usually needed to get a real feel for the product. Being that I really didn’t notice even a slight difference, it’s not something I would repurchase.

Adwoa Beauty Blue Tansy Treatment Serum

Price: $36 for 2oz

The Blue Tansy Treatment Serum is a silicone free hair serum that helps to prevent moisture loss, breakage, and damage from heat styling tools with the incorporation of Blue Tansy, Argan Oil and Grapeseed Oil.

The first thing I noticed is that this has the typical blue tansy floral scent, which I find to be pleasant and almost comforting. The serum suggested usage includes applying to wet, damp or dry hair and can also be added to a hair treatment mask for additional benefits. I typically used the serum on my hair when it was damp after washing and sometimes when it was dry. I really loved that the serum was substantial enough to be applied to my hair and scalp without feeling overly greasy and weighed down. Applying the blue tansy to my scalp directly helped with locking in moisture and for hydration. I think the blend of oils and the weight was perfect for my hair type! I really enjoyed using it and the bottle lasted me a really long time, so I would definitely think of repurchasing it the future. I also really like that the package has a pump applicator!

Mizani Styling Foam Hair Mousse

Price: $25 for 8.5oz

The Styling Foam is a light-weight mousse that is formulated with shea butter to help moisturize while providing a soft styling hold. Styling foams are used in all sorts of ways within the natural hair community.

I typically used the styling foam to style my hair after it’s been blown out straight for a braid out/twist out. The Mizani foam with this usage helped to provide a light hold along with lightly moisturizing my hair at the same time. With this foam the hold is very much on the lighter side and that’s why I liked using it. I’m happy to say it never made my hair feel dry, sticky or caused any flaking. I would likely repurchase in the future. I do wish this was available in a mini/travel size like so many of the other Mizani styling products.

 Candle Empties

Diptyque Vanilla Candle

Price: $74 for 6.5oz

Scent blend: leathery, smoky, vanilla

I actually purchased this at a sample sale and was able to only pay a fraction of the cost. Usually vanille (vanilla) is not a scent family I would splurge on because I find many vanilla scents to be lackluster. I’m so happy to be proven wrong with this one. This particular vanilla blend has a more smokey campfire aroma to it. I also find the candle to have a really nice throw and the scent lingered very well after it was put out. I burned this candle or several months and when I did it was several hours at time. Even with the frequent burning the candle lasted a pretty long time. Being that this scent is apart of their classic collection, it can always be found and is usually readily available.

Nest Grapefruit Candle

Mini Gift with Purchase Size

Key Notes: Pink Pomelo, Grapefruit, Watery Green Notes

I believe I got my Nest Grapefruit candle mini from the Sephora Birthday gift from this year. The candle is super small, but also still fragrant at the same time. I burned this mini in my bathroom and I was able to get quite a few burn sessions with it! The grapefruit scent is a sweet citrus and a perfect size for any location of the home!
